Paraphrasing practice and review: We'll take a more in-depth look at paraphrasing strategies by working through a paraphrasing workshop.
Advanced Punctuation: Today we'll spend some time reviewing the most common punctuation marks and talking a little about how you can use them effectively to vary your sentence structure (PowerPoint on punctuation; coordinating conjunctions practice). After you've had some practice, I'll give you some tips on how to use (not overuse) them and how to proofread your work to be sure you've used them correctly. Here is a practice activity if you'd like to give it a try! I'll give you the answers next class.
HOMEWORK: Return to the sample literature review from the beginning of last class. Here is a draft of the outline in essay format. Using what you have learned, begin a revision. Save the revision in your dropbox as "lit revision_your name" by Monday, March 1st at noon. This will be a graded homework.
